Sundays at St James’

We recognise that we are all different. That difference is apparent in how we worship. Each Sunday we offer a diversity of worship.

Services

8am - Holy Communion

At 8am we offer a quiet service of Holy Communion.   There we pray using the timeless beauty of the Elizabethan found in the Book of Common Prayer.

9.30am - Sung Communion

At 9.30 we gather for our Sung Communion service with hymns, our worship enhanced by our excellent robed choir.

Refresh

A more ad-hoc gathering for worship on some Sunday’s at 6.30pm offering a slower pace and peaceful feel.

Stories of faith to encourage and inspire are often shared, we pray and enjoy time together and refreshments afterwards.

Choral Evensong from the Book of Common Prayer

6.30pm on the First Sunday of the Month.

Traditional Choral Worship including; hymns, three Bible Readings (one of which is the choir chanting a psalm), sermon and prayers.

11am - Informal Worship

At 11 we gather to worship more informally, drawing on contemporary worship songs.

Church on the Corner

Every Tuesday at 2pm followed by a time for conversation and refreshments.

Formerly based at Wetherby Cemetery Chapel and now either in the church or our church centre we offer different worship each week, including twice monthly Holy Communion.

At each service we strive to offer the best worship we can, dwelling on the word of God, praying for the needs of the world and gathering around the table of the Lord Jesus.
