Come and join the choir of St James’ Church, Wetherby and friends for a fun afternoon getting to grips with Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem. Completed in 1890, it’s one of great cornerstones of the choral repertoire packed full of emotion and gorgeous tunes. Run by the church’s Director of Music, Michael Payne, we will spend the afternoon learning the work and culminating in an informal performance with an audience.
The afternoon will run as follows:
13:30: Registration
14:00: Warm Up and Rehearsal 1
15:15: Break
15:30: Rehearsal 2
16:30: Break
17:00 Informal Performance (40 minutes)
There is no charge for this event for singers or for attending the informal performance. We can provide copies of the music, however, if you have a copy of the vocal score, please bring it along. We will be using the edition edited by Desmond Ratcliffe and published by Novello.
