Online Worship

Thank you to all who have been joining us for our services.  It is great to gather together.

Church Services

During lockdown St James' worship has continued each weekday morning and every Sunday online.  This Sunday sees a significant development in our pattern of worship: the introduction of a 10am Parish Communion in Church.  The PCC is committee to resuming services in as safe a way as possible.  In addition worship will continue to be online, as it must to accomodate all who wish to participate.

Sunday Worship:

8.00am BCP Holy Communion in Church - Please see our Daily & Sunday Services page for details.

9.00am Kid's Service - Bible teaching, songs, craft for all the family available on St James YouTube page.

10.00am Parish Communion in Church and live streamed to Facebook - We hope you can join us either in person or virtually!  In order to make the service in church as safe as possible for everyone certain procedures will need to be followed.  Please see our Daily & Sunday Services page for details. Link: St James Facebook page . We will upload the service to YouTube as soon as we can afterwards: St James YouTube page.

10.00am Sunday Worship - via telephone - the service can now also be accessed on the telephone for the cost of a national call.  If you want to access the service via the telephone, here is how to do so:

1)     Dial 0131 460 1196 - You will be asked to 'Enter the Meeting ID followed by hash [#]
2)     Enter: 897 4289 5688 #   - You will then be asked to 'Enter your personal ID or just enter #'
3)     Just press #  (there are not personal IDs for our services) - You will then be asked to 'Enter your meeting's password'
4)     Enter 864778 # - You should then hear the service through your telephone.

Be aware, however, that your phone provider will charge you for this service.  The best way to find out how much it costs/minute is to contact your provider to ask the cost of a call from your phone to an 0131 number on a Sunday morning.

10.30ish Coffee on Zoom - is having a break for a couple of weeks.  Zoom coffee is an important and valued point of connection for St James'.  However during the period of getting the 10am Parish communion up and running we will give ourselves a caffeine detox.  That is, we will have a break from Coffee Zoom.  We will get this up and running when our jugging has improved!

Monday - Friday

9.00am Morning Prayer - please join us for Morning Prayer each weekday via Zoom (please note the new meeting details below).  This is a great way to start the day, listening to God's word and praying for his world.  Click on the link and we can meet virtually to pray:  Zoom link for Morning Prayer  Meeting ID: 716 3190 4008 Password: 8QcDqV

Thursdays

10.00am Coffee Morning - Why not join Shirley Fawcett and Dee Nolan for a cup of coffee and a natter via Zoom?  Sadly, as it has to be a virtual coffee morning, you will have to supply your own coffee and cake, but the natter is free!  Bring your coffee and make people jealous with your delicious cake!  Thursday Coffee Morning Zoom

Daily Hope 0800 804 8044 - Daily Hope is a free phone line of hymns, reflection and prayers.  It is aimed at those who do not have access to the internet.  If you know anyone who you think might like to use it then please do pass this on.

As you will appreciate without collections from Church Services our finances as a church have been hit severely.  At this difficult time of restrictions the easiest and safest way to support St James' is via standing order or one-off donation through your bank. Details about how to so this are on our Financial Giving Page

Finally...hope is a precious commodity and a powerful resource. St Paul, who endured much suffering and frustrated plans, reminds us that God is a God of hope, who brings us hope, and prays:

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15.13)

Zoom access instructions

If you've not used Zoom before don't worry, it's amazingly simple.
1. Follow the Zoom link next to the service you wish to join.
3: The Zoomlauncher.exe should open automatically but you may need to be patient (if it takes a long time follow the instructions on screen)
4. Click on the launcher to open it and then click 'run'.
5. This will take you straight to our 'webinar' (service).
6. You may need to enter your email and the password (published alongside the service, above)
7. Click the green button in the centre of your screen.
8. Have a little experiment with the two screens. You can toggle between them.
Once you've downloaded the launcher once it's even easier to join a 'meeting' again - so why not get set up in advance so you know you're all ready to go when you want to join us?
