Suggestions for Prayer

Let us ask God’s blessing upon this evening’s Service of Light and that the worship may provide the opportunity to remember and give thanks for a loved one; and to be reminded of, and strengthened by, God’s love and promises. Pray for all who will attend that they may be comforted and encouraged.

Pray for people who have recently moved to Wetherby in the new developments. 

This week churches in Wetherby pray for: persecuted Christians worldwide.


Service of Light today at 6.30pm– All are welcome to this moving service as we remember before God those whom we love, but see no more. Please do pray for all who feel the pain of bereavement that this service will share the light and hope of Christ.

Mothers’ Union – The next meeting of the Mothers’ Union is on Wednesday 7 November at 2pmand Suzanne Wainwright will talk about 'Uganda Calls me Back’. Thank you. Mary Hare


U3A Current Affairs Meeting on Thursday 8 November at 2.30pmin the Church Room with Alec Shelbrooke, MP for Elmet and Rothwell, will be talking about his work in Parliament and answering questions. Everyone welcome. Sandra Ellen


On Remembrance Sunday, 11 November, the Scouts will be offering a refreshments service to the Community in the Church Centre. Bacon/sausage rolls, soup, tea, coffee and cakes will be served between 10am and 2pm. Proceeds will help support Josh, Alex and Lucy (3 Wetherby Explorer Scouts) with raising funds to attend the 24thWorld Scout Jamboree in America. Refreshments for the 9.30am congregation will be served in the Coffee Lounge as normal.  We look forward to welcoming you all. Steve Taylor

First Aiders Needed – Could you serve the church by volunteering to be a named first aider? We are going to run a training course on Saturday 17November,starting at 9.00am, in the Church Room and lasting approximately 3-4 hours. Please contact Steve Taylor email steve.taylor7f@btinternet.com


Wetherby Choral Society Concert (The Armed Man) on Saturday 17November at 7.30pm at St James’ Church. Tickets cost £16 and are available from Nicolla Florist or at the door on the night.

Church Welcomers– Thank you to all who have spent time helping to keep the Church open to welcome visitors this year. We have been lucky enough to have visitors from all over the world and people are so very pleased to find the Church open.
