Suggestions for Prayer

Let us give thanks for the work and ministry of CMS, both in this country and overseas. Give thanks too, for the six years Miriam, our Link Mission partner, has been working as an occupational therapist in Tanzania . Pray for her as she hopes to be working, in the near future, for another organisation involved with children and their disabilities.

Churches in Wetherby pray for: Children who are being persecuted worldwide. 
Finding a Voice – A Course for Lent. There will be a number of homegroups meeting in different venues throughout Lent. This year we are using a course called ‘Finding a Voice’, which is based on the film ‘The King’s Speech’. Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, 6 March, so groups will begin the week after. There will be a list at the back of Church for you to sign. Do consider joining a group, they are such a good way to learn, amongst friends old and new! Thank you. David Bewell

A Day in our Pilgrimage to the Holy Land – You are invited to a Middle Eastern meal and an illustrated talk on Saturday 23 February at 6.30pm in the Church Centre. Esther Women’s Trip to Ripon Cathedral on Friday 15 March at 7.00pm to see ‘Son et Lumiere’. With spectacular projections and music from the Cathedral Consort and others, commemorating 50 years since the moon landing. Tickets are £10 from Eventbrite and through our Facebook page. Tools with a Mission (TWAM) – Churches Together are organising another collection of tools on Saturday 16 March from 10.00am to 4.00pm in the Church Room for TWAM. The donated tools will be sorted into trade kits and sent to countries in the Developing World for ‘livelihood creation’. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. David Bailey has had a successful operation on his back and is well on the road to recovery. He and Hilary have been overwhelmed by the many prayers, love and support from the people of St James’, who, in their words, have been tremendous. They send their love and thanks. Shirley Fawcett
Lent Lunches – As in previous year, we will be holding a simple Lent Lunch in the Centre following the Thursday Lent Meditations in Church. If you can help with these by either making some soup, or helping in the kitchen, your help will be much appreciated.
